Global Atlas of Helminth Infection home page

Global Atlas of Helminth Infection

Working closely with Simon Brooker and his team, we have created a unique, open-access, free information web resource vital for planning and implementing deworming programmes. Our challenge was to present and structure the web site so that it is easy for users to view the maps on screen and / or download them, and to create a platform that can evolve as more countries and diseases are added to the atlas's portfolio.

Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) home page

Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV)

MMV, a not-for-profit public-private partnership, set up to save lives through the discovery, development and delivery of effective and affordable new antimalarials. The venture is currently managing the largest portfolio of antimalarial R&D projects ever assembled. We worked closely with MMV to understand their business drivers and target audience requirements, going on to develop their new web site with novel IA, a clean, attractive and easily navigable interface, and content more closely targeted at achievements and outcomes.

The African Meningococcal Carriage Consortium (MenAfriCar)

MenAfriCar is a new international research effort to study how meningococcal meningitis is spread in Africa, and to document the impact of a new meningitis vaccine on reducing transmission. Take a look around the web site we have developed to promote and detail their planned research activities throughout the African meningitis belt.

The Africa London Nagasaki (ALN) Scholarship Fund

ALN is a new scholarship set up to support African scientists undertake a Master’s degree in a subject relevant to the control of infectious disease in Africa. We were commissioned to create a web site to facilitate the electronic application process and to make the application procedure as simple as possible, especially for applicants in African countries with unreliable internet connectivity.

Malaria Capacity Development Consortium (MCDC) Community web site

The Consortium sought to create an online network to encourage information exchange between all the different groups and individuals associated with the programme, including the recently recruited PhD students and their supervisors, mentors and educational advisor. So Manta Ray Media built one.

What our clients say...

Simon Brooker, Reader in Tropical Epidemiology and Disease Control at LSHTM

“Working with Manta Ray Media (MRM) to develop our website has been excellent. We wanted to create an open-access, global information resource on the distribution of worm infections. MRM straightaway understood our needs and shared our passion to create this open resource. They came up with some great technical solutions to our requirements, and their knowledge of the international health community was particularly helpful. The final product was a website which was visually appealing and very easy to navigate, enabling users to visualise the assembled data and maps. Our plan is to develop similar information resources for other tropical diseases, and we will again be working with MRM.”

What our clients say...

Dalia Iskander, Malaria Centre co-ordinator

"I just wanted to say a massive thank you for all the hard work you put into creating the Malaria Centre web site.

I have had nothing but good feedback and nice compliments about the site (and now the newsletter) but these should actually all be directed at you guys.

It has made a massive difference to the Centre and our sense of identity and hopefully to our long term sustainability.

As always it was a pleasure to work with you all and thank you for making it all a very painless, jargon free and even at times, 'fun' process"
