How we work

Understanding the needs of our clients and working collaboratively to define a suitable approach in line with their identified needs is at the centre of how we work. Effective partnerships with our clients maximises the impact of the products we deliver.

Phase I: Gathering requirements and design

To ensure our client is fully aware of what we will deliver - in consultation with them - we produce a high level document to clearly describe a project’s expected outcomes. In particular it defines the: end product; purpose of the site / application and its key audiences; customer expectations and their acceptance criteria; quality standards and project schedule.

This stage also involves:

Phase II: Development and implementation

Taking the specifications, requirements and designs from phase I, we embark on a focused and structured development life cycle. If required we employ sub-contractors, for their specialist skills, to work alongside our developers. Regardless of whether a web site or system is built entirely in-house or alongside sub-contractors, Manta Ray Media ensures any work delivered maintains the high standards expected by our clients. Specifically this phase consists of:

Phase III: Training, support and hosting

Projects vary in size from simple web sites where we act as web editor/master to large complex web sites, applications and systems where our clients operate and maintain the content. Training courses and support documentation help are provided to our clients to help them maintain the content of their web sites.

We offer a web hosting service to take away the hassle of maintaining your own web servers or having to work within the constraints of your organisation’s web hosting services.

Once live, we provide support and maintenance for all our sites and products should any problems arise.

User-centred design

Whenever possible we adopt a user-centred design approach to take full advantage of the input from potential users which helps to ensure the final product is appropriate for their needs. Too often users are ignored during the development stage.

Depending on the nature and requirements of the project and the stage at which we enter the project life cycle, we usually recommend the following stages for a web project to achieve the desired outcome.
